The digitally embroidered patterns are discrete “sound prints” sampled from a dawn chorus I recorded in Great Lakes Wildlife Preserve in Northwest Iowa, May 2018. Some of the sounds include those of a Black Capped Chickadee, American Redstart, Chipping Sparrow, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellow Throat, a Gray Catbird and various insects. There may be a House Wren, American Robin or a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. Small moments from the longer recording were translated using Adobe Audition and AutoCAD software. The paper is air-dried, a blend of raw and bleached abaca and cattail. In this case, I collected the cattail from the environment local to the sound.

There are 8 distinct patterns, produced in a variable edition of 5 each.
